This custom mesh plastic mask was made to hold her head still while they beamed radiation at her brain tumor. It's screwed onto a table while she's laying down. She finished 5 weeks of radiation treatment as of today and is waiting a month for the swelling to go down before her next MRI scan. We're crossing our fingers that the radiotherapy worked.

Edit: It's snapped on to a table, not screwed on for easy release. Thank you for all the kind messages and awards. Although she is tired from all her chemo and radiation treatments, she's happy to be home for the holidays.

My dad had one of these made for his radiation, though yours is way scarier. He recently passed (stroke, not the cancer) and I found his mask, he always said it saved his life, and as creepy as it is having it brings me a lot of comfort. By the way, they told him he'd be gone in six months when he started treatment, and he beat the cancer and lasted ten more years. Best of luck to your sister
