Multiple people are believed to have carried out the horrific attack, with one suspect still on the run. Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz called the incident a "repulsive terror attack" as police confirmed four deaths - four victims and one suspect Footage posted on social media showed people scrambling for cover as shots can be heard in the background. A man can be heard shouting while sirens go off and a pedestrian cowers behind a bike rack. At least 14 people have been injured in the attack, including a police officer who suffered gunshot wounds.

Interior Minister Karl Nehammer said on Monday: "At the moment I can confirm we believe this is an apparent terror attack. "We believe there are several perpetrators. "Unfortunately, there are also several injured, probably also dead." He said on Monday evening that while one attacker had died, at least one other was still "on the run". He said those remaining on the loose were likely "heavily armed and dangerous." He added: "We have brought several special forces units together that are now searching for the presumed terrorists. I am therefore not limiting it to an area of Vienna because these are mobile perpetrators.”

I finished my shift (food delivery on a bike) and was cycling to the train station so that I can take a train home. My path was going directly through the shooting zone. I didn't know what was happening at first, and didn't take much of it. Main road bridge was blocked off by a shit ton of police cars, so I made my way onto the nearby one. Went into the alleyways afterwards to connect back to the main road. Those alleyways are the places where the shooters were seen in the videos. I was there maybe 5 minutes prior. They were PACKED with people in restaurants and bars. I really hope everyone of those people is safe.

I'm living in Vienna at the moment. Massive police presence on the streets. Similar to France seems its the day before lock downs take effect that whoever it is has scheduled an attack.
