I love seeing this. As a young teenager I made a mistake which I didn't know any better or realize how extreme it really was. But I was a juvenile but instead of a judge giving me a break and helping set me up for a good future this judge decided to charge me as an adult even though I was a juvenile and pretty much ruined the rest of my life at a very very very young age. Since then I have gone on to work Burger King construction and odd jobs just to have employment. I never had a chance at life once I was convicted of that felony as a juvenile. I wish more judges would follow this and live by this and realize that people make mistakes and should not be judged the rest of their life. Just give them a chance. A chance I never got.
One time I had a speeding ticket. Going 44 in a 35. Turns out they had just recently reduced the speed on the road from 45 to 35.
I challenged my ticket in court. I explained to the judge that I agreed I was in the wrong and should have been more aware. I was willing to pay the ticket in full. All I asked was he not allow it to go onto my driving record so it wouldn't increase my car insurance. I explained I was a college student still and struggling to pay my student loans.
Judge asked how much debt and whether I was employed and what field i was studying. Then He agreed to my proposal. I super appreciate what he did for me to this day.
