San Antonio Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich says he's standing with Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

The Lincoln Project released a political ad Thursday featuring Popovich, an Air Force veteran, who was sporting a San Antonio Food Bank cap while officially endorsing Biden.

"Our country is at a crossroads and each of us must decide where we stand," he said in the minute-long ad. "I stand for truth over lies. I stand for equality and categorically reject white supremacy. I believe in compassion and decency. I believe our veterans are true American heroes, not suckers, not losers."

The endorsement comes less than a week before Election Day. Popovich has been known to take aim against President Donald Trump in the past, especially on issues such as racism and equality.

The Lincoln Project, which funded the video, was founded by Republicans who want to "defeat Donald Trump and Trumpism," according to its website.

"A vote for Donald Trump is a vote against the very ideals upon which our democracy was founded," Popovich says in the video.

Friday is the last day for Early Voting in Texas. Election Day is Tuesday.

Texas going Blue would be equivalent to a 3-1 or 3-0 comeback.

Wow, who would’ve guessed that the guy who called Trump “a deranged idiot” would endorse his opponent? I’m simply blown away at this revelation

Obviously not very surprising. That said, it's interesting that the ad was released through the Lincoln Project.
