I can't speak to the comments about gun laws but I will say that when it comes to masks and social distancing, in most states, not obeying the governor's orders regarding the same isn't a criminal offense. And if it's not a criminal offense, the police don't act. In most states the Health Department (by statute, because it's health related) is responsible for that unless the governor says otherwise. It's why COVID orders are having a damn hard time being enforced; on top of everything else your health dept. is supposed to be the mask police.
