And don’t forget that HR is not there to help you. HR’s entire job is protecting the company against litigation from you, the employee. They’ll pretend like they’re there for you, but trust that they’ll side with your boss(es) 99.9% of the time.
I left my job at the end of February and got a 24% increase when I only asked for 20%. At the old job they only new how to pay you below the industry standard and pay you in pizza 🍕🍕🍕. As if I’m a child.
I doubled my income in a year going from a shitty job, to a temp job with a good company, then using that experience at the good company went to another after the temp position ran up. Apparently nobody else had applied for the temp position because of it being temp but that experience on my resume carried me higher. Not trying to brag, just saying sometimes strategic moves make all the difference
