So they can make their employees feel guilty about doing a small nice thing for themselves (and also engaging in the same capitalism that keeps them afloat) while still buying yachts.
This still baffles me to this day, I serve with so many soldiers that say "why would we pay them more?" I always ask "why are you okay with subsidizing their wages?" Thier response: "they should get another job" or "that's not meant to be a career".
