Apparently, Chris got kicked out of his home when he was 18 years old. He lived in his car for a while (in freezing winter) and even contemplated suicide but at one point he realized β€œthe only person I could truly count on was myself.”

He started applying for jobs β€” anything he could find β€” at the library. Warehouse, factory, meat packer, wedding DJ assistant, solar panel canvaser (twice), insurance agent, etc. He finally got hired as a mattress salesman, earning a 30k annual salary.

He was able to afford a place for $550 a month, finally not being homeless anymore. He started going back to school while working full-time, taking online classes during work.

After completing his schooling, Chris became a teaching assistant. But he had higher ambitions, and eventually applied to a tech job in Philly. His salary doubled but still, he did not lose momentum. And finally, after 4 years, he officially became a homeowner (a $350k home on 1.24 acres).

How the fuck he go from homeless to this in 4 years?

Not hating at all I'm glad for him but I'm lower middle class college educated and could never see myself affording a house like that ever.

Shits wild. I've been doing it wrong.
