Don't forget that sweet sweet dead grandparent money.

I just saw an article like this that was like "how I survive living in Washington DC making $45k per year". He goes and lists all the classic frugal strategies and then goes on to say "I didn't want to throw my money away renting, so I was thankful my parents lent me money for a down payment on a condo!".

Thanks, champ.

Edit. For people getting upset at the people in these articles (the one I was talking about was actually a video), I think that anger is misdirected. Most of us click them expecting some savy financial advice. I don't fault these kids for getting help from their family, but writers/editors should know better - there's no value in these articles (besides the clicks they generate).

Can you believe he paid off all of his own student loans and his mortgage by saving ever single cent from his $20 an hour, entry level job he got at his uncle's company? For his entire college career, he didn't spend a dime of his paycheck on anything but debt, living entirely off of his meager inheritance given to him by his late grandad. By the time he graduated, he was already debt free, owned a two story home, and was promoted to a six figure job at his uncle's company.

He had these inspirational words for any other young hopefuls, "listen here you fucking peasants, I'm a lazy piece of shit but my life turned out great. Idk what you're complaining about. Like seriously, I'm a fucking asshole. I was almost found guilty of date raping a girl at a frat party. And yet look at how great everything is for me. If I can do it, anyone can do it."
