If apple cared about the environment they would stick to USB based charging. The fact they created proprietary cords shows it's all about money. They don't want you to have a single cord for multiple products. This is why I stick with Android. I use a single USB-C to charge my phone and then my switch.

I think it should be an option when ordering a phone, to have a discount applied if you don't need the charger. It shouldn't be as standard.
