Iirc I read an interview with him a long time back. He was walking through some treeline on the back of mountainous forests. Filming it on his camera. This Chinese guy is shouting at him and he doesn't know what he says so he's waving and smiling and walks on.

Months later and he's back home watching the video with a guy translating it. The Chinese guy was warning him of a man eating bear in that area and to take a different route. He checks on media and it was true. A guy had even been killed the day before.

Edit to add u/VisibleGhost over here points out the guy I read about was Ash Dykes. Much credit to visibleghost and a wheelbarrow of humble pie for me.
