When I moved to Canada I didnโ€™t speak a work of English, and these 3 boys thought that was โ€œhilariousโ€ and teased me here and there. In hindsight we were all in grade 4 and kids, all good.

But this one boy Ken, he just wanted to play basketball. And through physical motions we were friends all year. He moved that summer and I never saw him after that, and never got to show him my English skills!

Thanks Ken

Just think of the scene in Billy Madison when Adam Sandler calls Steve Buscemi to apologize, and Steve Buscemi crosses his name off of the "People to Kill" list

My dad was all-sport everything in High School. Honestly, he is still great at pretty much everything he does. But in high school, he was incredibly popular and good looking. No joke, his yearbook photo is a dead ringer for Heath Ledger.

After time in the military etc, he ended up back in that town, where he then met my mom who had moved there, had my sister and I and settled into that life. One of my mom's good friends had married the polar opposite of my dad in high school - dorky, undersized, quiet and the butt of a lot of jokes. He said my dad would step in if anyone was picking on him (or anyone was getting picked on), never ignored him, and apparently generally gave zero fucks about high school social status. Now they are best friends and hang out all the time (covid crap aside).
