It's been argued that it isn't Greasley, it's apparently an anonymous Soviet prisoner of war during an official visit to Shirokaya Street Concentration Camp in Minsk, Belarus, on or about August 15, 1941.

The picture is held by the US National Archives and the caption details show it was taken in Minsk, in mid-1941, that it was taken by a photographer for a propaganda film and identifies the soldier as Soviet from his cap.

Himmler, one of the most sadistic men in the Nazi leadership and an architect of the Final Solution (ie. the Holocaust), was reportedly uncomfortable with death and blood.

I saw a documentary, I think it was the famous The World at War (the one narrated by Laurence Olivier) where a German officer recalled Himmler witnessing an execution and being inadvertently sprayed with blood. He reportedly freaked out and couldn't handle it at all.

So if you ever needed another reason to know that he was a coward.
