Dexterity is also being able to throw tomatoes to people with accuracy

Edit:for everyone saying thrown weapon are str you are wrong. Thrown property allows you to make a ranged attack using the same attribute for the weapon which for most is STR.

So in the end it's dex because tomato does not have the thrown property since it does not have any property because it is an improvised weapon.
