Yeah Trump’s interruptions and shouting over him were exactly targeted at Biden’s weakness, which is that he has trouble being succinct and speaking rapidly. But I also saw Biden’s strengths, his empathy and his experience among many others, also come through at the debate last night. The way Biden started by saying something about how he was the last left of 23 candidates and how he represents everyone was really important. He’s knows that he wasn’t a lot of Democrats’ first choice and he is making serious efforts to make sure diverse ideas are represented.
I also thought it was gracious of Joe and Jill Biden to go talk to Chris Wallace afterward. They’re so much more socially adept people than the Trumps.
Edit: Wow, this blew up! Everyone go donate and volunteer for Joe Biden/Kamala Harris and to flip the Senate! Only four more seats and we can have improved healthcare, childcare, student loan balances, environment, employment, etc. etc! Campaign texting is just like writing comments on Reddit but with the advantage that you might sway a voter in a crucial swing state! Phone banking is fun and entertaining! Volunteering will give you lots of good stories.
This election is the most important of our lifetimes. We will be telling our grandchildren what we did to contribute so that good would prevail in 2020. Let's go save the world!
His tweet about being proud of his son Beau immediately after the debate got me choked up. I’ve never been excited to vote for Biden, just knew that it was necessary. But now I’ll think of that tweet when I fill in the bubble next to his name.
I haven't voted since I voted for Obama his first time around (my first time voting too) because I am in a historically red state. I had given up on my voice mattering in the face of so much ignorance-- an endless sea of red. Watching the debate last night (I haven't really watched any of Biden's campaigning as I was a big Bernie supporter), I was reminded of everything I loved about the Obama administration and Joe Biden. I was reminded of the respect I have always had for him. Me & my spouse now have plans to vote on the day early registration begins. We will help turn our state blue.
