When your job turns your from a shop tech to bomb defusing tech.

Our shop record was 117. Customer kept adding air because her dad told her to check it daily. Happened over the course of a college semester. First time she went home, she came by our dealership because it felt odd. This was her first long drive since she got on campus.

Worked at auto parts store years ago before I came to my senses. I had a customer buy a gallon of oil, no filter so I just assumed she may already have a filter or had a leak. 3-5 minutes later she bought another one. Again, I assumed maybe she was distracted and meant to buy two. Several minutes later she bought another from a different employee. I finished with the other customer I had in front of me and took a stroll outside to see what was up. Turns out she put all 3 gallons in her 4 cylinder Toyota because “it wasn’t full yet.” Well she was expecting to see it level off in the crankcase under the oil cap. Had no idea what a dipstick was, let alone how to use it.
