I've read a couple cases along these lines and it's just utter bullshit on the employer's part. One was an Amazon warehouse where you clock out at their time-clock then get into a half hour security line to be frisked before you are let out an exit. The other was a coffee shop where you had to clock out, then lock all the doors, tidy up and take out the trash. Their paychecks should have been adjusted for that expected post clock out time all along or maybe employers could have not had a stick jammed up their ass about clocking in and out to begin with.
