(CNN) A Black man who was pinned to the ground and beaten by sheriff's deputies in the Atlanta area during a traffic stop says he "feared for his life."

"I just want to let y'all know that I was scared and I feared for my life ... and I just pray and just hope that it don't happen to nobody else," Roderick Walker told reporters Friday during a news conference.

Walker was detained last week by two Clayton County Sheriff's Office deputies during a traffic stop . The officers asked Walker, who was a passenger in the car, for his ID and told him to exit the car, which led to the confrontation, an attorney for Walker had said.

A social media video of the encounter shows the deputies holding him on the ground and striking him in the face.

Clayton County is a suburban area just south of the city of Atlanta.

Sheriff Victor Hill...you guys should read up on this guy. He shot a realtor back in 2012 "accidently" while they were practicing "police tactics." Oh, and that woman got a job working for the Sheriff later on and was caught giving lap dances to a deputy. She was suspended and the person who reported it was fired. He also pushed for an arrest warrant against a landscaper who was trying to collect a debt against one of his LT's. He sent a squad outside of his jurisdiction to hunt this guy down, and got caught by the other counties sheriff...the other sheriff called the FBI on him to ask them to investigate that. Eventually the landscaper guy turned himself in to try to fight the charge. Except, he was taken to jail, strapped to a chair so tight for for hours that they actually wounded his wrists, stripped him, and put him in paper cloths...all because he was "suicidal." What was the arrest warrant technically for? Harassing phone calls. He is well liked in his community though, he got over 60% of the vote...but this guy just smells corrupt. Good political play, I think in his community they liked how quickly he called an investigation and fired the deputy. That scores some points come election time.

Edit-

Wow this is now one of my top posts. Ill go back and add the sites that I went to when I got this info.

They already fired one of the officers for excessive use of force. That’s how you know it’s bad, when they aren’t even trying to do the “we are investigating the incident” routine.

Since his encounter with law enforcement, Walker has experienced multiple medical issues, including cognitive problems, headaches and blurry vision, "all over a traffic stop that should never have happened," said Jane Lamberti, one of the attorneys representing Walker.

She said Walker also had a mild traumatic brain injury, a back injury, fractures around both eyes, and "knee injuries that need full physical therapy."

And all because they demanded his ID which he didn't have after stopping his rideshare for a broken tail light.
