I worked at a small italian family owned restaurant 15 years ago and it was the best restaurant I ever worked at. Weekday lunch shifts were always kind of slow, and the owner would always hand me $50 at the end of very slow shifts as an extra thank you, and so I always made sure to be cleaning and organizing during those shifts, too. Win Win. When I had to leave to move to another state, he gifted me a new pizza cutter and pie pan along with $300. He was a very wonderful, kind man.
They're still open in Portland, ME if anyone wants to support him and his family and have delicious authentic Italian!
