The Daily Populous Monday September 21st, 2020 evening edition
In Troy (2004), Brad Pitt and Eric Bana did not use stunt doubles for their epic duel. They made a gentleman's agreement to pay for every accidental hit. $50 for each light hit, $100 for each hard blow. Pitt ended up paying Bana $750. Bana didn't owe Pitt anything
In fairness this may not be due exclusively to Pitt's clumsy swordsmanship. Bana plays defense for most of the fight, parrying and backing away. By my count Pitt throws about 3 times as many strikes as Bana in their fight.
Everytime I see something from Troy it just makes me wonder why Eric Bana didn't end up as an A List super star. He's so good in everything he does, and stole the show in Troy. Which is impressive as there were some excellent performances in that movie, Pitt included.

The first fight scene with Achilles and this fight scene with Hector are amazing. Aged so well too.
