‘Erik Spoelstra earns $120,000 for every win’: Heat’s coach has earned insane money with playoff wins this season

Erik Spoelstra is awarded an amount in 6 figures for each game he has won this season. Heat have helped him out with a massive incentive.

The Miami Heat have been one of the surprise, best teams in the NBA this season, both on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.

The Heat shocked the NBA world with their immense post-season success, including eliminating the highly favoured Milwaukee Bucks in 5.

This is in large part due to Head Coach, Erik Spoelstra, steering the Heat, not only into Playoff contention, but leading them to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Erik Spoelstra’s massive bonus after each Miami Heat win

It was reported in January 2020, that the Miami Heat higher ups reward Erik Spoelstra with an extra $120,000 after each victory, whether it be the regular season or the Playoffs.

The $120,000 per win is on top of the $3 million he is set to earn as his base salary for coaching the Heat. This puts Spoelstra’s 2020 season earnings, well over 9 million dollars.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise however as Erik Spoelstra is one of the most respected coaches in the NBA. He coached the Heatles from 2010-2014, helping bring 2 chips to South beach.

Spoelstra also has a higher winning percentage in the Playoffs than coaching legend, Gregg Popovich, as Spoelstra boasts a 62.2% whereas Coach Pop has a 59.9%.

With all of his accolades, it is astonishing that he has not won a single Coach of the Year award yet.

Spoelstra’s Miami Heat have quite literally been steamrolling their competition in these Playoffs, as they have a 9-1 record, the best out of any team in these Playoffs.

The Miami Heat took down the Celtics in Game 1 of the ECF, 117-114, and when asked about their performance, Spoelstra replied, “We can be better.”
