People seem to have vastly different ideas of the appropriate use of cemeteries depending on where they are from. I once told a coworker from Kansas that I had went jogging in Atlanta's Oakland Cemetery over the weekend and she laid into me with a lecture about how disrespectful I am. I responded by showing her the cemetery's website that listed upcoming events including the Tunes at the Tombs musical festival complete with craft beer and food vendors. The coworker let me know that we are heathens here in the dirty south.

In 1800s people used to picnic with loved ones passed on.

When I'm dead and buried, you are all welcome to have a beer, bbq or picnic at my grave. It'd be nice to have the company and be remembered
