Because not all contact persons have been tracked so far, the health authorities are asking those who were out in local bars on or before this evening to contact the health department’s hotline (08821 / 751-500) and have themselves tested. According to Scharf, 24 people have so far tested positive in an accommodation where the woman works. Overall, the number of new infections by Saturday was 37. The seven-day incidence was 54 and thus above the critical mark of 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days. “Of course, they don’t all have to be infected with her,” emphasizes Scharf. 453 positive cases have been detected in the district since the beginning of the Corona crisis.

Authorities expect the numbers to continue to rise

“From a medical point of view, a further significant increase in infections in the district is to be expected,” said the district office and imposed restrictions on public life in the market town with around 26,000 inhabitants on Friday. “We want to shut down the nightlife that triggered it.”

All restaurants there must close at 10 p.m. Only a maximum of five people are allowed to meet in public space – this also applies to all restaurants. For private events, the number of participants is limited to a maximum of 50 people in closed rooms or up to 100 people in the open air.
