The Daily Populous Saturday September 12nd, 2020 night edition
I found this cleaning out my Nana’s condo. She recently suffered a stroke and is struggling with dementia, but when I showed her this she remarked “look at that wasn’t I something?” and smiled :) [Circa 1958]
For those wondering, she is still “something” to this day - the strongest woman I know :)
Edit: Thank you all for the awards and the fantastic responses. I am combing through all of them and trying to respond to every one! This year has been incredibly hard for us all. My father (her son) died 2 months before I was born so Nana and I have always had a special and close relationship.
I just talked to her on the phone and told her “my internet friends loved your article - they think you’re a badass!” to which she said “thank you I am a badass” and laughed. 😂
Props to your grandmother! Whatever you can do to remind her is a wonderful thing. It's so heartbreaking to see your loved ones suffer with dementia. I saw my brilliant grandfather slowly fade away until I couldn't recognize him inside his body.

Thankfully nowadays we just call them “physicists.” Props to your Nana on blazing a trail.
