Batista was honored to take part in the film and the trailer is finally here, he posted the clip via IG.

Fans might think that 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' was Dave Bautista’s breakout role – however, according to the former WWE star, ‘Dune’ might be his biggest role yet.

The actor was elated that a director like Denis Villeneuve showed interest – the same director that once turned Batista down, he explains with Flickering Myth;

“I have to say that getting the call from [Villeneuve], asking me personally to do this part was a monumental moment in my career. I was floored that he actually called me. When I first met him for Blade Runner 2049, he did not want me to play Sapper Morton. He was not interested in me for that part. I really had to win him over and so, to have him call me and say he had been thinking about me since that film and wanted to personally offer me this role, that to me felt like I had really earned some respect.”

Nevermind just the castmates, his ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ director James Gunn would describe his excitement for the gig via Twitter – commenting on the ‘Dune’ trailer;

The film is set for an anticipated release, it’ll hit the big screen on December, 18th, to close out 2020.

Clearly, Dave’s gigs haven’t slowed down, and he owes all his success to himself, as WWE really didn’t help promote his films all that much, especially in comparison to the likes of Dwayne Johnson and John Cena.

It hasn’t deterred Dave and heck, he even took shots at his counterparts in the past, claiming that they aren’t very good actors.

Here’s what he had to say about DJ’s roles compared to his own;

“[The] Rock was, in a way, a movie star before he was even a movie star. There is something about him that’s really special. I’d never take that away from him. Would I consider him a great actor? F— no. I want good roles. I don’t care about Fast and Furious or Bumblebee. … That’s not the kind of stardom I want. … I want to be in Dune. I want to work with Denis Villeneuve. I want to work with Sam Mendes and Jodie Foster. I want to work with Academy Award winners. I’m proud to be a character actor. I want that respect and credibility and education.”

Without a doubt, Dave is backing up his words these days.
