Question: why does he even have the right to refuse the DNA test?

I feel the need to point out that at this point these are only allegations and his guilt has not yet been proven.

However, without even getting into the presidents lengthy history of sexual misconduct it seems likely that the allegation is not unfounded just based on his response to it.

My armchair lawyer impression is that if the allegation were completely untrue he and his legal team would be trying to move the process forward ASAP to have his innocence proven. Nobody wants to get their DNA tested but for a politician this close to an election i cant help but think that the only reason his legal team has not to make him take the test is that they fear it will incriminate him in some way.

Additionally, the attempts to delay the trial till after the election and put the tax payer on the hook for the outcome of the trial leads me to believe that the outcome will effect his chances of reelection, and that he expects to recieve some financial penalty as a result of it.

Id be willing to bet that at some point he and his legal team will attempt to settle out of court and buy the silence of his accuser, but we can only hope that she chooses not to let him hide the truth.
