Are we sure that old man isn’t the doctor from the first pic? Guy on the table looks old af already.

Edit: wow apparently not, the doctor who performed the surgery actually died before the patient. He was a heavy smoker and fairly unhealthy. The patient attended his funeral. actual story

Fine, u/PFDRC for you, EDIT 3: Apparently this surgery was double badass cause transplanting organs was widely opposed by pretty much every religious and political organization in the country due to the heavy Catholic influence. This doctor and his group privately raised the funds to perform the surgery, allegedly even asking the Polish Mafia for financial assistance. source
