It's a shame that most of us will witness the loss of a hero when we are young and still depend on their example. Whether it's a fictional role model, or someone we actually know, a little part of you dies that day and becomes cemented in your character as a part of who you will eventually become.
I hope that any positive influence that Boseman had on that boy follows him into adulthood and carries on a legacy that all good people aspire to pass on. He will hurt now, but that will heal with time. The memory will inspire him forever.
It is both heartbreaking and inspiring that Chadwick Boseman could rise to worldwide fame while still remaining so kind and humble all the while secretly knowing he had cancer.
