So THAT is what I've been doing wrong? The number of cavities I've had lately now that I'm retired and without dental insurance is astounding.

I wonder if I can talk the wife into brushing teeth together. She's had some cavities herself, so I might have a shot.

To get my kids less anxious for the dentist, I’d sit on the floor with their head in my lap and brush their teeth. Now, we all lie on the floor to brush together. It’s a highlight of the day to just spend that weird time together. Especially knowing once they grow up and realize other people probably don’t lie on the floor to brush their teeth. I hope they look back on it fondly.

When my son was 5 his teacher told him that a 30 second hug every day will make you live longer. He told us he had to hug us to keep alive a long time. He's 16 now and still gives us a 30 second hug nightly.
