I made a “proton pack” for my toddler so he could run while having continuous IVs to treat cancer.

He has leukemia and was on an experimental immunotherapy treatment that required he be on a non-stop IV medication for two 28 day cycles.

He’s 2 and wanted to move, but had to be connected to a fragile IV pump and bag of medication. He didn’t want to wear a backpack.

His big brother was obsessed with Ghostbusters so he was familiar with the gear. I turned his backpack into a proton pack using stuff around the house and some cheapy battery twinkle lights from Amazon. He loved it instantly and happily wore his backpack for the entire 56 days.

The stickers are all themed on his treatmeng which was a BiSpecific Tcell Engadger (BiTE)

So the stickers had simplified chemical diagrams of the medication, “Tcells Engaged” etc.

Thanks everyone! Hope it brought a smile. But please don’t waste your resources on giving me gold. If you have change to spare, we’d love if you consider donating to childhood cancer research and there is no better time as September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Our favorite organization is St. Jude. Not only are they saving my little guy’s life, but they are working hard to improve outcomes of children with cancer all over the world. All of their research is shared for free as well. ♥️
