Acting Drug Enforcement Administration chief Chuck Rosenberg is in hot box water after calling medical marijuana a “joke.”.

“What really bothers me is the notion that marijuana is also medicinal—because it's not,” Rosenberg said in a briefing to reporters earlier this month.

“We can have an intellectually honest debate about whether we should legalize something that is bad and dangerous, but don't call it medicine—that is a joke.”.

But, in the age of hemp-oil seizure medication, it’s not exactly a tactful thing to say.

Now, a bipartisan group of seven lawmakers is calling for Rosenberg’s firing.

You may not agree with Rosenberg, but you have to admit: The distinction between medication and recreation is blurry, and becoming increasingly so.

A former head of Boston's police union already charged with raping a young relative now faces 16 new charges and accusations that he sexually assaulted and abused four more children, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Patrick Rose, a former Boston police officer and president of the Boston Police Patrolmen's Association, was arrested on child sex charges earlier this month.

Rose was arraigned Tuesday on the 16 new charges, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Rachael Rollins' office. »

Three and a half years after it first opened its doors, Trump International Hotel and Tower Vancouver has permanently shuttered.

A letter from the strata council on Thursday also informed condominium owners that the hotel operator had laid off all staff, filed for bankruptcy, and permanently closed.

And as of Friday at 1 pm PT, the Trump Vancouver hotel website has disappeared, and now redirects to the Trump Hotels global website, which no longer lists the Vancouver property. »

JK Rowling returns human rights award to group that denounces her trans views

JK Rowling is returning the Ripple of Hope award given to her last year by the Robert F Kennedy Human Rights (RFKHR) organisation after its president, Kennedy’s daughter, criticised her views on transgender issues.

On receiving the award, Rowling called it “one of the highest honours I’ve ever been given” and said “Robert Kennedy embodied everything I most admire in a human being”.

“RFKHR has stated that there is no conflict between the current radical trans rights movement and the rights of women,” said Rowling. »
