If you’re so tired you fall asleep at takeoff and sleep the whole flight, they have to wake you up for landing.... and they will package your meal to go for you in a little bag.
If you wake up before landing and missed meal service, there will be a giant neon sticker on the back of the seat in front of you. Usually before you can wake up enough to figure out what’s going on, a flight attendant will be headed over to ask you if you’re ready for your meal.
This is pretty standard for long-haul flights, particularly among Asian and Middle-Eastern carriers. If you're flying with ANA, I recommend their Japanese meals.
