A smaller budget for the people starting wars will result in fewer wars.

People never seem to get that defunding the police or the military means putting more resources elsewhere.

Defund police -> fund social services Defund military -> fund diplomacy

When you give someone a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. When you give police body armor, armored vehicles, and tear gas, and semi automatic rifles, every citizen looks like the enemy. Cops are more occupied with punishing citizens then stopping crime. It's why you see them beating people on the ground instead of, you know, putting cuffs on them. If they were doing something bad enough to warrant being beaten on the ground, chances are you could just arrest them and take them away. Unless they aren't breaking the law and you're only excuse is them not showing you the "proper respect." Cops act like catching criminals is like catching pokemon and the only way to arrest someone is by beating them into submission first.
