My dog gets really anxious in the car, so my grandma asked to sit in the back with him. The whole car ride all I heard was “it’s okay, we’re almost there brave boy”

That’s precious but she should probably wear a seatbelt.

So this actually works so well. For any animal. Clearly they don’t understand you but I feel they understand tone. Just like a cat purring.

I had a bird fly into my house a long time ago. It was pretty panicked. I tried to grab it or help it out but it wasn’t having it. I started talking to it. Telling it I’m here to help. It’s ok. Within minutes it let me cup it in my hand. I was 😮. Made a note then.

Recently my friend texted me that he would be late as he was dog sitting and the little pupper didn’t want to go outside. He would pick it up and it would freak out. I told him to do the same. Talk to it softly. He texted me back a min later with a pick of the dog outside.

So yeah. Give it a try next time you see something in distress. Be it a dog or a little mouse.
