Three people have been arrested in connection with the assault of a teenage Chili's hostess who was trying to enforce the restaurant's seating restrictions imposed because of the coronavirus, according to Baton Rouge police.

Tammy Dabney, 48, was booked on a count of aggravated second degree battery, while both 27-year-old Rodneka Dabney and 46-year-old Erica Dabney were booked on counts of disturbing the peace and simple battery.

The three suspects were part of a group of 11 people who tried to dine together at the Chili's on Constitution Avenue on Saturday.

The hostess, Kelsy Wallace, told them only six people could be seated, per the restrictions set during the pandemic, police said.

As Wallace tried to figure out what to do with the large group, the altercation turned physical.

Tammy Dabney first punched Wallace in the face multiple times before grabbing a "wet floor" sign and hitting her in the face with it, according to booking documents.

After the attack, several members of the group fled the scene before police arrived, police said. Wallace received a laceration above her right eye from the sign attack, requiring five stitches to close the wound at a local hospital.

A tip received by Crime Stoppers identified Tammy Dabney as one of the assailants who struck Wallace with the floor sign, and detectives were able to compare surveillance footage that confirmed her identity, documents say.

Video from the business also showed Erica Dabney's car leaving the restaurant, along with capturing her identifying tattoos, according to booking documents. She was also identified as one of the assailants by a Crime Stoppers tip.

Imagine being an adult and throwing a tantrum and assaulting a teenager because you don’t get your way....

Glad they've been arrested, hourly hostesses shouldn't have to work as a security force.
