The other risk here is that if Azula had learned bending from Iroh, then she would know that firebending comes from the breath and probably could've freed herself from the ice. Similar to Zuko in the north pole using his hot breath to stay alive and power his bending in sub zero tenp.

My favourite will always be how Hama pulled the moisture from the air, put it over her fingers and made ice claws.

The way Toph invented metalbending was incredible, not only creative but used the fight or flight adrenaline rush to free herself
