No joke, I literally had something like this happen at my church the other day. For some reason the pastor thinks mentioning politics during his sermon is a good idea (its not) and mentioned the protestors, and said "If they didn't want to be arrested, they wouldn't have done anything wrong", during a sermon, in which Paul was on trial for spreading the teachings of Jesus, an at the time criminal for his radical beliefs. The bible belt is just so stupid
Edit since people like to assume: I am currently living with my grandparents, and they will not allow me to not go to church or change church. I am forced to go wtih them and if I were to make a scene I would be in a poor situation as I cannot live by myself. I would love to stand up to all of them but I would endanger myself if I would. Think before you judge.
