The older people I know are scared to death! My MIL talks with them and reports back. She can name you five contemporaries she knows, people she used to go to dinner-dances with, who are dead. Who died alone, with no family. Couldn’t have a funeral. One of the daughters of one of those families said, “I never saw my mother again, dead or alive, after she went to the hospital. I -think- that was my mother in the casket.”

And yes, they all modified their behavior.

Both sets of my grandparents are still alive. They not getting scared of getting sick or dying but you know what I'm scared of getting them sick and/or dying. I love them and don't see my self living with my self if I was the reason that got them sick and they died cuz of it. Sorry I love them you fucking assholes.

Most elderly aren't afraid of this virus.

I guess it depends on exactly which elderly folks you're talking to... But my parents and their social circle are all taking it very seriously. They all remember things like polio. The whole retirement community shut down. All the group activities suspended or moved outdoors. Lots of them are suddenly showing an interest in technology like Zoom or Facetime so they can socialize.
