My almost 2 year old at the time followed me to the back door and when I went out to take the trash out he touched the deadbolt lock and was locked inside. I tried to show him how to unlock it first through the doors window. That didnt work. After awhile he stopped trying, went to the living room, poured my soda can out on the coffee table, and started licking it up....
The police showed up but they had to wait on firemen for the right tools. Then maybe an hour later we got inside. My son was asleep on the floor.
You don’t have to fix the door either. Just hang a picture over the hole and that way if it ever happens again you have instant access. I solve problems.
