The character designs are pretty standard Groening, but the scenery and background art is top notch. Make sure you look around to appreciate it as you watch the show. Also, if you like a lot of “gags”, this isn’t your show. Jokes like the one above are just a small part of the show. It’s really more story-focused than anything else Groening has done. Instead of just “story of the week” episodes, there’s an overarching plot.
