I do love the backstory of how he came up with the world of dark souls from reading fantasy novels while not fully understanding the language. What a creative soul.
Honestly possibly my favorite game I’ve played so far, about 20 hours in. Theres only 1 or 2 things I could nitpick like a loss of realism with having your horse be invincible and being able to summon it everywhere, and some clunkier climbing mechanics. But even those I appreciate because it really served to aid flow of play and individualize the game
9.8/10 for me all in all. Absolutely in love with Jin as a protagonist, theres so much subtle depth to his character and persona. Khotun Khan is possibly one of my favorite villains I have seen in a LONG time. The story is very engaging with a wide array of diverse and engaging characters
Can’t give enough praise to the animation and fight mechanics. Theres so much diversity in skills that you can really come into your own style of fighting
The map is HUGE, but still absolutely packed with activity so you never feel like you are doing too much traveling without action

It's funny playing with the Japanese audio as all the characters mouths speak English. It's like a samurai movie dub in reverse lol
