At my school all the administrative staff are working from home while faculty are being forced to teach face to face.

They basically have to reopen because there is no unemployment assistance come July 31st for the employees they furloughed with the exception of Florida's whopping $275 a week. So it's either they open or 77,000+ people go homeless.

The Florida government is giving all businesses here basically no other option.

Should they stay closed, yes, but it's a catch 22.

Edit: another point I'd like to make is that Disney could have opened a month and a half ago if they wanted. The timing for opening now really does add to the idea that this is to give their employees income because the federal aid ends in two weeks and the state aid is not enough to even pay rent on in Orlando.

I have family and friends that work for the parks, so trust me when I say I do not want them to have to risk going to work with this virus around.

I still don't understand the Disney hate- we should be shitting on universal studios Orlando for being open since the first week of June- including throughout the growth of cases and no restrictions anywhere close to the ones that Disney is implementing (they are strict, just not as strict). Let's shit on ALL of Florida's importance they put on reopening first and the people who are dying second!
