In the case of this particular ad, the target seems to be Mr Trump’s well-known fixation on personal loyalty.

If the Lincoln Project’s ad really is targeted attack on Mr Trump’s own psychology, rather than just a typical attack ad, it has arrived at an apt moment.

The Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, has announced live on television he has tested positive for coronavirus.

“It came back positive,” a mask-wearing Bolsonaro told a hand-picked group of reporters on Tuesday lunchtime outside his official residence.

The 80-year-old grandmother of Brazil’s first lady, Michelle Bolsonaro, was reportedly intubated on Sunday, after being admitted to hospital with coronavirus last Wednesday. »

Victoria will reimpose stage three restrictions for six weeks in metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire in a bid to slow a rapid spread of coronavirus.

There were 191 new confirmed cases announced on Tuesday, with 37 linked to known outbreaks and the remaining 154 under investigation.
