Just putting it out there that it appears the LA PD did not actually buy this car and it was donated to them for a short period of time.

In the city I grew up in the police had several sports cars and speed boats. They all had clearly painted on the side “Confiscated from a drug trafficker”.

Not sure how it works in America but in Italy Lamborghini donated two supercars to the police force so mabye something like that happened there?
