Whew I can relate to this. My mom just moved in with me a few months ago and time I step out my room she starts talking and I know I'm stuck for at least an hour. I love her to pieces but sometimes you just aren't in the mood but don't want to be rude.
My wife and my work and sleep schedules don't perfectly align, so it is great for dealing with this. She gets off work before I do, so has her alone time. I get home and we have together time. Then she goes to sleep before I do so I get alone time.
