My husband (boyfriend at the time) did that at Starbucks once. The barista asked him if she should put his number on the cup. We were dropping a car off at the mechanic so we were driving separately.
My husband did a similar thing at a drive thru last week. So I pull up and the guy says, "the guy in front of you paid for you," but he had a really weird look on his face when he said it. Apparently, my husband said, "can I pay for the hot girl behind me?" We are in our late 30s and I had one of our kids in the back seat. ETA: We were in separate cars because we needed to be in different places at different times that day.
