I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen this posted and it's still the most wholesome thing I've ever seen.

This is American professional soccer player Carson Pickett. She was born without her left forearm. In addition to currently playing for the Orlando Pride in the NWSL, Pickett has represented the United States on the under-17 and under-23 national teams.

I grew up outside of Chattanooga, TN, whose local Double-A minor league baseball team is the Lookouts. They said on the news one night that one-armed pitcher Jim Abbott had been sent down to rehab or work on something or other and would be pitching for the visiting team that night. This was probably 1995-97ish, (edited to add that it was 1998) and my brother and I decided to go see the game. He yelled out during warm-ups and batting practice that he'd sign autographs after the game and to meet him by the exit doors to the locker room. Sure enough, about 30 minutes after the final out, he came out carrying his duffel bag. There were two kids there with physical defects/abnormalities (sorry, not trying to be offensive, don't know what term to use) and their baseball gloves, and he saw them immediately. He gave them 5-10 minutes of his time before moving on to the rest of us who just wanted an autograph, and everybody kind of gave him space. I always thought it was so cool to see kids see a hero of theirs and for others to realize it was a special time.
