I worked at McDonald's until very recently. I was often the drive thru worker. The people who refused to move were often the most selfish stubborn people I dealt with. Moving forward doesn't cause your order to get to you slower, but it does keep the people behind you from getting their orders slower. No cost to you, and it helps others out.
Our policy was to send someone outside with each order and deliver it to the people in line behind the asswipe and watch them fuming in their car through your peripheral.
This STILL doesn't cause that person to get their food slower but they are too dumb to know it and that's why it's so perfect that it infuriates them.
