Picture it.

The Daughters of the Third Reich. Chapters in every small town and large city. Full of women sympathetic to the Cause. Looking to assuage a pain only known by those defeated by true injustice. With a cry in their throats they appeal to local civic authorities to place statues in parks, town squares, in front of majestic public buildings, naming schools... Goebbels, Himmler, commandants of Dachau and Auschwitz. Busts of Hitler in state houses paid for by taxes. Also, they sell cookbooks and hold cotillions.

What a noble crusade...

Yeah, America is so wild when you think about it. The Confederacy was a traitorous state. No other country in the world would allow monuments to a traitorous regime to stay up like that. Iirc, openly praising the Nazis is straight up punishable with prison time in Germany. And you don't want to know what they'll do to you in North Korea if you praise the ruling class before the Kims.

Yet those "conservative" folk STILL have the audacity to complain about everything. Definition of first world problems

I think one of the saddest things about the heritage argument is that the south DOES have a rich history. Why focus on the symbols of oppression when there’s so much more?
