Iirc, this was an ad about a man who had died touching a powerline because DC power was used then and can actually be quite dangerous since it will contract muscles preventing the person who made contact from letting go of the lines, as opposed to AC which will cause muscle spasms, allowing the person to potentially let go.

Edit to say: this particular death was horrific because the DC caused his flesh to begin to burn off, whereas he may have also died from contact if it had been AC but it likely would have stopped his heart and not have caused his flesh to appear to melt away.

Edit again to say: As others have pointed out, touching AC power lines is not safe and you may still experience tetanus (muscles freeze) even though it is more common to die of fibrilation when electrocuted via AC. Can't believe I need to say this, but: do not touch AC power lines, there is still a high risk of death or injury.

Bro people protested the installation of street lamps since "lighting the town at night goes against God's will"

Edit; I don't remember where I heard this, could be false but I can't find a link so take it for what you will

Edit 2; as some of you have pointed out, it was most likely more about light pollution than anything. I think what I heard was from a thoughty2 video or something so ya, my bad

TIL that street posts used to have skulls hanging from them. Scary stuff.
